Data Protection Statement

Last updated: 15 August 2026

This Data Protection Statement explains how personal data is processed when you use Requill ("the Service"), a service that rephrases AI-generated text with a language model on its own infrastructure while preserving its original meaning. Please read it carefully. You must accept this statement before you rewrite text with the Service.

1. Controller

The controller responsible for data processing in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:

Temera Technologies GmbH Haldesdorfer Straße 14 22179 Hamburg, Germany Email: info@temera.de

2. Categories of Data We Process

Depending on how you use the Service, we process the following data:

  • Text you submit for rewriting and the rewritten output, together with any additional instructions you provide.
  • Account data (if you register): your email address, a securely hashed password, your language preference, and your subscription status.
  • Usage and rate-limiting data: for visitors without an account, your IP address is used to enforce the free weekly rewrite limit (a per-IP counter). For accounts, a per-account weekly counter is kept.
  • Payment data: if you purchase a subscription, payment is processed by Stripe (see Section 6). We store your subscription status and a Stripe customer reference, but we do not store your card details.
  • Technical data (log files) automatically collected to operate and secure the Service, such as IP address, date and time of the request, and technical metadata.
  • Cookies: a session cookie for authentication, a cookie storing your language choice, and a cookie recording your acceptance of this statement (see Section 7).

3. Purposes and Legal Bases

Managing your account and subscriptionArt. 6(1)(b)
Enforcing rewrite limits and preventing abuse (per-IP / per-account counters)Art. 6(1)(f) (legitimate interest in the availability and integrity of the Service)

Quality improvement and evaluation (free tier — see Section 4)Art. 6(1)(f) / Art. 6(1)(a) where consent is required
Operating and securing the Service (log files)Art. 6(1)(f)

4. Storage of Rewrite Content and Anonymous Mode

  • Free accounts and free (non-account) use: the text you submit and the rewritten output may be stored for quality improvement and evaluation purposes. Without a paid subscription you can only view the current session; previous rewrites are not shown back to you.
  • Requill Pro (paid) accounts: your rewrites are stored so that you can view and continue past rewrites. You may enable Anonymous Mode for any individual rewrite; in Anonymous Mode the submitted text and the output are not stored and are excluded from your history. Anonymous rewrites still count toward your weekly quota, which is tracked by an anonymous counter that does not retain your content.

5. Text Processing (Our Own Infrastructure)

Rewrites are generated by a language model that runs on our own infrastructure via llama.cpp. Your text is not sent to Anthropic, OpenAI, or any other third-party AI provider for the rewrite itself.

6. Data Sharing with Third Parties

Your data is generally not shared with third parties, except:

  • Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd.) processes subscription payments on our behalf. Data required to complete the payment is transmitted to Stripe.
  • Where we are legally obligated to do so, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

All data processing takes place within the EU. Where a processor may transfer data to a third country, appropriate safeguards under the GDPR (e.g. standard contractual clauses) are in place.

7. Cookies

We use the following cookies:

  • requill_token — essential; keeps you logged in (session authentication).
  • requill_locale — remembers your language selection.
  • requill_privacy_accepted — records that you accepted this statement.

Essential cookies are used on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) and, where applicable, § 25(2) TDDDG.

8. Data Retention

  • Account and subscription data are retained for the duration of your account and as required by statutory retention obligations.
  • Stored rewrite content is retained for as long as needed for the purposes described in Section 4 and deleted or anonymised thereafter.
  • Anonymous-mode content is not retained.
  • Per-IP and per-account rate-limiting counters are retained only as long as needed to enforce the weekly limits.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and to object to processing. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future.

To exercise your rights, contact us at info@temera.de.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Germany, this is the data protection authority of your federal state.

10. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or manipulation.

11. Changes to This Statement

We may update this statement when necessary. The current version is always available within the Service.
